CALGreen requires at least 50 percent diversion of waste generated during most construction, remodel, and demolitions projects. To increase your project’s diversion of waste from the landfill, consider deconstruction and reuse of materials first. Zero Waste Marin recommends using a Certified Facility to ensure proper recycling of construction and demolition (C&D) debris materials including wood, metal, asphalt, brick, concrete, tile and other waste.
Make C&D recycling for your project easy:
- Reuse and/or deconstruct first
- Take all C&D materials to a Certified Facility
- Save and submit documentation of recycling
Download the C&D Diversion Form here, select the Easy or Advanced diversion method, and turn in the completed Form A to your jurisdiction’s building department. If using the Easy method, submit documentation of recycling with Form B prior to final inspection.
Certified Facilities List
This list of Certified C&D Facilities has been approved by Zero Waste Marin’s Board of Directors. These facilities achieve greater than 50% diversion, verified by on-site inspections and a thorough review of operations. For details, read the 2015 Construction and Demolition Recycling Certification report below.
This facilities list will be updated on a regular basis. Please contact Zero Waste Marin at (415) 473-6647 to ensure you have the most recent version.
