Recruiting Volunteers for the Local Task Force: Summer 2024

Zero Waste Marin is recruiting volunteers to act as members of the Local Task Force. The Local Task Force acts as an advisory board to the Joint Powers Authority Board and can make recommendations to the Board about suggested actions, potential legislative support, and programs.

There are two different types of seats currently open:

  • Public Seats: There are 3 openings for public seats, one for each of the following areas: San Rafael, Novato, and Ross Valley (including Ross, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Larkspur, and Corte Madera). Public seats are held by residents of one of the three areas listed, and provide a general community perspective on the Local Task Force.
  • Environmental Organization Seats: There are 2 openings for environmental organizations. Note that while the applicant will represent their organization, the individual employee, not the organization itself, will be the member of the LTF.

Relevant information about the Task Force and our open seats:

  • Term: The Local Task Force seats are 3-year terms.
  • Meetings: Our meetings are currently scheduled for the first Thursday of the month, every other month, in-person at 1600 Los Gamos Drive from 10am – 11am. Our upcoming meetings and previous agendas/minutes are all listed here.
