Join Zero Waste Marin for 2025 North Bay Zero Waste Week, October 11th – 18th! Events will be hosted in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa. There will be a variety of events hosted during Zero Waste Week to bring various elements of zero waste to the community. We hope to see you at our events!
The City of Novato will be giving away compost **only to Novato residents** for free as part of North Bay Zero Waste Week! City of Novato staff, Novato Sanitary District staff, and Zero Waste Marin staff will be at the event from 10am – 12pm to answer questions and provide educational materials as well.
Visit Marin Sanitary Service for a tour of their Recycling Center and Transfer Station! See what happens to your recycling, compost, and landfill materials after they are picked up from your home, business, or school.
Join the Central Marin Sanitation Agency to learn more about how your wastewater is handled and treated! This tour will also cover the Food 2 Energy program, which generates electricity from food scraps collected at participating businesses by Marin Sanitary Service.
Join Sausalito City Sustainability staff and the Sustainability Commission for a book swap at the Toast to Sausalito event! Bring a used book in good condition to donate, and/or “shop” for a book at the swap for free! In addition, get tips on celebrating the holiday season in a zero waste fashion and request a free kitchen compost pail from the City! This book swap and informational table is part of a larger event known as A Toast to Sausalito.
