April 14, 2026: Solar Panel Reuse & Recycling Fair!

Zero Waste Marin and the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) are proud to announce a Solar Panel Reuse Training & Education Fair!

Event Highlights:

  • Live Microgrid Demo: Reuse Alliance and Amy’s Roofing and Solar will demonstrate how to test and transform “retired” panels into functional microgrids and showcase their solar panel tables. This hands-on session is based on this Solar Panel Reuse Case Study, which provides a step-by-step guide on connecting used panels to portable power stations. “According to the NREL, 60-70% of the embodied emissions in a solar panel comes from its manufacturer which is why it’s so vital we refurbish and reuse them. Plus, reuse generally creates 30 times more jobs per ton than disposal, so it’s good for the environment and for our economy!” – Phoebe Schenker, Reuse Alliance
  • Expert Networking: Connect with vendors and industry leaders within Marin County specializing in solar repair and recycling. CPSC will further discuss the current landscape of solar panel recycling policy in California and how it impacts local stakeholders.
  • Event Raffle: Attendees can enter to win a free Jackery Portable Power Station, a high-value tool for creating your own off-grid power setup!
